Our Mission

  • Our purpose shall be to promote harmonious activity in carrying out the Great Commission of our Lord in cooperation with other churches of North Central Baptist Association, the Illinois Baptist State Association and the Southern Baptist Convention.

Affiliations

  • North Central Association covers primarily the geographical area of Winnebago and Boone Counties  and is made up of those churches who are through doctrine, polity, practice, participation and financial support  in voluntary cooperation with the purposes of this association.

  • The North Central Baptist Association encourages its churches to work in close voluntary cooperation with the Illinois Baptist State Association and the Southern Baptist Convention in carrying out the Great Commission of our Lord.

  • The work of the North Central Baptist Association is supported by its member churches, the Illinois Baptist State Association and the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Our Director of Missions

Dr. J. Edward Hail, Jr. moved to North Central Baptist Association after having served as a pastor for 25 years, He moved to the Rockford area from Seymour, Indiana where he was the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church of Seymour. He is married to Bonnie, his wife of 31 years. They have three children, Melissa is their oldest at age 29 and she lives in Rockton, IL with her husband Lane Richmond and son, Landon and daughter, Hailee. Mark is the first born son, age 27 and married to Sarah Salinas. Mark is a musician, concert artist , worship leader and part of the group SomethingElse. He is now serving on church staff at Friendswood Community Church in Friendswood, TX. Matthew is the youngest child and second son and after graduating with a degree in Film and Motion Graphics from Madison Media Institute in 2009, he has decided to further his education at Boyce College in Louisville, KY. Matthew is working on a Biblical Studies degree with a Major in Music. He will soon be  21 years old and has recently released an EP on Itunes called Life on the Water.  He is a drummer and plays the guitar and keyboards and also part of the group SomethingElse and has his own video editing business called Fast Forward Productions. 

Bonnie is very much involved in ministry with Dr. Hail who prefers to be called ("Jay" or Bro. "Jay"). She is a registered nurse and for the last eighteen years has been working in the hospital as a recovery room nurse. She loves working with youth, sewing and crafts and painting. She is also a wonderful singer and pianist and has often led ladies daytime Bible studies.

Dr. Hail and his wife are your missionaries, appointed by the North American Mission Board and called by North Central Baptist Association to be a resource to the churches of Boone and Winnebago Counties. They are here to serve the churches, encourage the pastors and their wives and develop strategies that will allow us to advance God's kingdom on earth and reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
